Privacy Policy

Certii ("we", "our", "the app") is a Progressive Web App built for gas engineers to create, store, and manage gas safety inspection certificates. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What data we collect

Certii collects and uses the following information:

Google account email address — used to verify your subscription status and identify your account.
Google Drive files — Certii creates and saves PDF certificates to a folder named "Caravan Gas Safety Checks" inside your own Google Drive. We only access files that Certii itself creates.
Engineer and business details — your Gas Safe registration number, name, and company details entered in the app are stored locally on your device and in your own Google Drive. We do not store these on our servers.
Usage counts — the app reports how many certificates you have issued (a running total, split by certificate type) and the date you last used Certii. This is a number only. We never receive the certificates themselves, nor any address, customer name, appliance detail or other content from them — that information stays in your own Google Drive and is never transmitted to us.

2. How we use your data

Your email is checked against our subscription database solely to verify whether your account has an active subscription.
Google Drive access is used exclusively to save certificate PDFs and sync your appliance library to your own Drive account. We do not read, modify, or delete any files we did not create.
Usage counts are used only to understand how much the app is being used, so we know it is working for you and where to improve it. They are not sold, shared, or used for advertising.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third party, except as described below.

3. Third-party services

Google OAuth & Google Drive API — used for sign-in and file storage. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Stripe — used to process subscription payments. Certii never sees or stores your card details. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare — our backend infrastructure. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

4. Data storage and security

Certificate PDFs and appliance data are stored in your personal Google Drive account — not on Certii's servers. Your subscription status (email address and plan) and the usage counts described above are stored in a secure Cloudflare database, solely to gate access to the app and to understand how much it is being used.

5. Data retention

Your subscription record is retained for as long as you have an account. If you cancel your subscription and wish to have your email removed from our records, contact us at the address below and we will delete it within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at benparry123@gmail.com.

7. Cookies and advertising measurement

The app uses browser localStorage and sessionStorage to store your settings and session token locally on your device only.

Our website uses Google Ads conversion measurement (the Google tag), which sets advertising cookies to help us understand whether our advertising works — for example, whether a visit or subscription followed an ad click. Where enhanced conversions are used, a hashed (irreversibly anonymised) version of your email address may be shared with Google for conversion matching. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
